Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th in 1972. She was raised however at Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local university. To follow in the footsteps of her father she obtained a degree in chemical engineering. Because she wished to become an actor, she moved into New York. The restaurant she worked in was while appearing in Broadway productions. She was in a minor part in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she first encountered Scott Foley). Garner was given her break by the action-thriller "Alias." The actress's debut main role as a lead actress was on the acclaimed romantic comedy "13 Going 30." Garner played a teenage girl trapped in a 30 year old body. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to create the film. The two looked for new opportunities until Winick passed away in the year 2011. Garner has been designated as an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. during 2009, had a key role in the group. The role entails encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States and early elementary education. Garner has served on the board of trustees since 2014. Garner promotes early childhood education. Being a part of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) team of ambassadors for the program, Garner visits families regularly to provide them with strategies to inspire their kids to be successful.
